Question:
Where do you go to find over 17,000 lakes, 86,000 miles of rivers and streams, 5.3 million acres of wetlands and 650 miles of Great Lakes shoreline?
Answer:
Don’t go anywhere! Stay in Wisconsin!
Healthy water is one of Wisconsin’s greatest assets. By protecting our water, we protect the health of our people, our economic interests, our recreation and our wildlife.
Clean water is a bipartisan issue for these reasons. Protecting our water is smart money management. It costs less to protect our water than it costs to clean polluted water.
Healthy water for the whole state is a key feature of the Gordon for Wisconsin campaign. Cooperation by all stakeholders will help us achieve this goal. In Wisconsin we have systems and structures to support this cooperation. We have more public drinking water systems than anywhere else in the nation. We have state and federal water regulations in place to protect residents and communities.
Cooperation is working together for a common purpose. Municipal water systems, lake districts, lake associations, health advocates, the Wisconsin Department of Resources, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, the Environmental Protection Agency and Wisconsin residents are working for the common purpose of clean water for today and for the future. As a candidate for the Wisconsin Assembly representing District 39, I am working for the privilege of cooperating with all Wisconsin legislators to protect our water.
